Abstract :

Vitamin C has known to have many benefits for body due to its antioxidant properties. Especially for the skin,vitamin C has a beneficial effect, including skin whitening, anti-aging and anti-wrinkle. Because of its benefits,many producers produce beauty product with vitamin C content, such as vitamin C injection.Vitamin C injectionis known has some dangerous risks if its use is incorrect.Therefore, this study is conducted to determine the levelof knowledge about vitamin C injection for beauty and its correct use among adolescents, especially femalestudents. In this study a cross-sectional survey was conducted with a questionnaire instrument. Data collectionwas done by accidental sampling technique for 131 female students of Campus B, Universitas Airlangga,Surabaya,with exclusion criteria are female students of the Faculty of Pharmacy. From the research data, it wasfound that 115 respondents (87.8%) had good knowledge and as many as 16 respondents (12.2%) had poorknowledge about vitamin C injection for beauty and its correct use. It can be concluded that there are somefemale students who do not know about injecting vitamin C and how to use it correctly. Therefore, counseling isneeded on vitamin C injection for beauty and its correct use to increase knowledge of female student of CampusB, Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya.
