Renewal ideas and activities of k.h. ammar faqih in gresik 1902-1965

Abstract :

Abstrak Makalah ini membahas kehidupan dan pemikiran KH. Ammar Faqih dan pengaruhnya kepada masyarakat Gresik, terutama di sekitar Pesantren Maskumambang Gresik. Munculnya pemikiran berkaitan dengan interaksi KH Ammar Faqih dengan dunia luar, Arab Saudi, pada saat pembaruan keagamaan berlangsung. Sebuah proses sejarah yang mempengaruhi munculnya sosok KH Ammar Faqih adalah agama di pesantren, bahkan cenderung radikal, yang berdampak pada masyarakat sekitar. Untuk mendapatkan gambaran dari masalah itu diperlukan seperangkat aturan atau metode untuk mencari berbagai sumber terkait. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah lisan oleh informan wawancara relevan dan tokoh di sekitar KH Ammar Faqih. Studi menyimpulkan bahwa interaksi dengan dunia luar telah membuat pribadi KH Ammar Faqih sebagai seorang tokoh agama (pembaharu) di pesantrennya. Pengaruh pemikirannya tampak di berbagai daerah, termasuk di Lamongan dan Bojonegoro. Pembaruan ini dapat dilihat dengan membandingkan kebiasaan dan kegiatan keagamaan stakeholder (Kyai) di pesantrennya, yang berasal dari Islam Tradisional Wahabi Islam ala KH Ammar Faqih. Pembaruan yang telah dilakukan oleh KH Ammar Faqih berhasil, meskipun melalui proses yang tidak mudah, karena banyak tantangan dan masalah yang menyertainya. Tapi hasilnya, banyak praktik keagamaan tradisional seperti tahayyul, bid'ah, dan churafat, hilang di masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Ammar Faqih, Gresik, pembaruan, pemikiran   Abstract This paper explores the life and thought of KH Ammar Faqih and its influence to the society of Gresik, especially around the Pesantren Maskumambang Gresik. The emergence of thought is related to the interaction KH Ammar Faqih with the outside world, Saudi Arabia, which at the time of religious renewal took place. A historical process that affects the appearance of the figure KH Ammar Faqih is a religious in the pesantren, and even tended radical, which impact on the surrounding community. To obtain an overview of the problem it is necessary set of rules or methods to search a variety of related sources. This study employs oral history method by interview relevant informant and figures surrounding KH Ammar Faqih.  The study concluded that the interaction with the outside world has made a personal KH Ammar Faqih as a religious scholar (reformer) in his pesantren. The prominent only influence of his thinkly and idea can bee seem in various areas, including in Lamongan and Bojonegoro. The renewal can be seen by comparing the customs and religious activities stakeholder (kiai) in his pesantren, who was originally from the Traditional Islamic Wahhabi-style Islamic KH. Ammar Faqih. The renewal has been done by KH Ammar Faqih successfully, though through a process that is not easy, because many of the challenges and problems that accompany it.
