Abstract :

Abstract In contrast to most rural communities in Indonesia who cultivate rice in the rice, Bedouin communities in rural districts Kanekes Leuwidamar Lebak Bantam until now plant rice in the fields or field for dry rice cultivation. This tradition is firmly held by Bedouins based on Buyut  (the ban), which is not allowing to change the soil structure. In accordance with the structure of the Bedouins, there are two classifications: Inner Bedouin and Outer Bedouin. Similarly, Huma is also classified into Inner Bedouin’s huma and Outer Bedouin’s huma.. For the Bedouin community, planting paddy in fields is a symbol of the marriage between Nyi Pohaci Sanghyang Asri (Dewi Sri) as a symbol of women with the earth (fields) as a symbol of men. The duality of heaven and earth through a process is aimed at creating harmony through the mating of male and female.
