Abstract :
Multidrug-resistant Tuberculosis (MDR TB), became a challenge toward tuberculosis eradication. Default is a serious problem in prevention and treatment of MDR TB, since it is the main cause of treatment failure and the expanding resistant. As human error, default situation could be associated with human’s psychiatric condition and it’s personality. The study aimed to profile the personality and psychiatric disorder of new defaulted and non defaulted MDR TB patients. We perfomed BFI 44 dan SCL 90 questioner, for 15 new MDR TB patients of RSU Dr Sutomo Surabaya, who take MDR TB drugs from January 18th to February 12th 2012. The BFI 44 result of default group was : extraversion 2,46; much lower than extraversion score of non default group (3,66). SCL 90 score described depression, and anxiety, in both group, while psycotisism found at default group. We conclude that new MDR TB patients with history of default, show low extraversion score. With symptoms of depression and anxiety emerged in both groups while psychotism only shown at default group. 2
