Effect of benzo(a)pyrene injection to the initiation of mammae cancer at mice

Abstract :
The aim of this study was to find out the effects of injection of benzo(a)pyrene as carcinogen to breast cancer of mice based by histopatological scoring between samples of normal and control group. A total of 18 female mice within 2 months of age divided into two different groups. Group one is for control (K) was not treated by benzo(a)pyrene, and group two (P) was treated by injection of benzo(a)pyrene to each of its mammae inguinoabdominalis subcutaneously. After 60 days of treatment, all mices were killed for its breast tissue sample. Collected data from histopatological scoring were analyzed by Mann-Whitney test. The results indicated that benzo(a)pyrene significantly increasing histopatological scoring at compared to normal group. The conclusion for this research was that injection of benzo(a)pyrene subcutaneous to mice 10 mg/kg bw could increase histopatological scoring and affects structures of mice’s breast tissue, thus considered as breast cancer.
