Abstract :

This descriptive research was conducted on September 21th until November 3th2016. Sampling has taken from two ponds that location in Kecamatan Diwek, KabupatenJombang. The aim of this research are isolation and identification of Edwardsiella tardabacterium on the sick Clarias gariepinus in Kecamatan Diwek, Kabupaten Jombang. Atotal 15 Clarias gariepinus were collected by purposif random sampling. Edwardsiellatarda was detected by swab the kidney, then streaked on Xylose Lysine Deoxycholate,then continued with Gram stain, Triple Sugar Iron Agar, Catalase test, Oxidase test,Simmon’s Citrate Agar and Motility Indole Ornithine. The collected data which presentedin descriptive from were calculated the precentage of infected Clarias gariepinus byEdwardsiella tarda. The result of this research were obtained that 4 sample infected byEdwardsiella tarda from 15 samples and 26,6% positive percentage which is infected.
