Potention of alkaloid sambiloto (andrographis paniculata l) to total leukocytes and leukocytes differential count on rat before infected by salmonella typhimurium

Abstract :

The aim of this research was to prove scientifically immunomudulator activities of alkaloid sambiloto to innate immunity response in helping maintain the immune system in common cold condition was caused by lack of immune system because of transmission of infectious disease through examination of leukocytes amount which were neutrophil, basophil, eosinophil, monocyte, limphocyte, Nk cell and Macropag that were nonspecific immune response.The research methods was activity of alkaloid sambiloto to innate immune response, that proved on 125 rats (Rattus norwegicus) that divided into 5 groups, which were control group (K), and 4 treatment groups. Control group (P0) and treatments were before infected by Salmonella typhimurium intraperitoneally 105 CFU (P1,P2 and P3) then were given by alkaloid in various doses ( 0 mg/kg bw., 3,78 mg/kg bw., 7,56 mg/kg bw, and 11,34 mg/kg bw) for 10 days. The parameters that observed were total leukocytes, amount of various leukocytes (Eosinophil, Basophil, Neutrophil, Limphocytes dan monocytes), Nk cells and Macropag. The research data that obtained were analyzed by one way anava, if there was a different, then advanced analyze was done by smallest significant differentialtest.Research result was alkaloid sambiloto can maintenance total dan Leukocytes differential count start from day 2 and back to normal before infected by Salmonella typhimurium and wasn’t affect amount of Nk cells.
