The influence of bacteriocin which was produced by lactic acid bacteria of pediococcus pentosaceus as a teat dip substance against sub clinical mastitis

Abstract :

The purpose of this research was to observe effectivity of bacteriocin which was produced by Lacticacid bacteria of Pediococcus pentosaceus as an effort to decrease the case of sub clinical mastitis by using asa teat dip substance. Milk were collected from 10 dairy cows (Frisian Holstein). In the week-0 examination there were 35 milk which were collected from each quarters of udder were positive infected sub clinical mastitis. It was based on the result of diagnosis using California Mastitis Test (CMT) method. Microscopic examination used to support the diagnose from CMT method, microscopic examination had done by Breed method in order to know the Somatik Cell Count (SSC). Milk collected and examination furthermore was done in week-1 and week-2 after using bacteriocin as a teat dip substance every time after milking. The results were then analyzed by using Wilcoxon signed-rank test and t test. These tests were done to find the difference of week-0 examination to week-1 examination and week-2 examination. There was a very significant difference of week-0 examination to week-1 examination, and also to week-2 examination. This study indicated that the bacteriocin was able to decrease the case of sub clinical mastitis.
