Abstract :

Comet fish (Carassius auratus auratus) is one of ornamental fish which has cultured in East Java. It is has been high and stabilizes market and demand. Comet fish spawning still conducted by natural spawning. The aim of this research was to find out the effect of chicken broiler pituitary extract on latency time, fertilization rate and hatching rate in comet fish spawning. Completely Random Design with four treatment and five replication were A (0 mg/kg), B (100 mg/kg), C (300 mg/kg) and D (500 mg/kg). The main parameter data were latency time, fertilization rate and hatching rate. The result of this research indicated that the effect of chicken broiler pituitary extract in different dosages was not significant to latency time of comet fish spawning. The chicken broiler pituitary extract could improve the fertilization rate of comet fish spawning with the highest value fertilization rate at dosage 500 mg/kg is 67,128% and the lowest value fertilization rate at dosage 0 mg/kg is 55,62%. The chicken broiler pituitary extract could improve the hatching rate of comet fish spawning with the highest value hatching rate at dosage 500 mg/kg is 63,354% and the lowest value hatching rate at dosage 0 mg/kg is 40,556%.
