Abstract :

The simple cadmium detection system was studied and developed using dithizone loaded membrane. Dithizone is one of the most frequently used chemical substances for cadmium ions extraction in water. Cd(II)-dithizone complex substance [CdHDith)2] is stable in alkaline condition and, presenting with the orange-red color. It was found that nylon membran filters 0,2 um were suitable membrane for the loading system with dithizone 0,01%.  The result of sample pH optimization for optimum color observation were 7-9 and the minimum sample detection was 0,05 ppm. Adding alumunium foil cover and silica gel in the storage container could improve dithizone membrane stability.
