Abstract :
The expansion activity of a multinational company were not only using oneentry mode, but using several forms in its entry process. This change indicatedby the behavior of the Billabong International Ltd. in their expansion towardsIndonesia. In 2006, after 2 years of a cooperation with CV. Bali Balance in alicense cooperation, their expansion form changed into a wholly -ownedsubsidiary. Analyzing the factors behind this change become the main focus ofthis paper. Based on the U-Model theory that consider the process of changeand the arbitrage strategy by Ghemawat and the source of idea of change, thechange in entry mode were based on several key factors, splitted into twomain factors, the internal and external factors.
