Abstract :

Tamil  diaspora  always  identified  as  a  military  campaign  to  a  rebel organization of Sri Lanka, LTTE. Affiliation of both, in addition originate from the same ethnic is their contribution to the Sri Lankan Civil War which began in  1983.  Activities  of  both,  are  cons idered  to  have  extended  the  Sri  Lankan conflict, however, what role is actually done by the Tamil diaspora? By using the  approach  of  escalation  and  de-escalation  from  Kriesberg  &  Thorson,  as well as a rational actor,  it was found that the Tamil diaspora see peace as a condition  that  followed  by  achievement  of  an  independent  state  of  Tamil Eelam.  With  that  consideration  then  the  diaspora  can  play  a  positive  and negative role. Tamil diaspora’s activity itself can be described in four factors. Internal  factors  related  to  motivation  and  identity,  technology  factors  that provide  access  to  communication  &  sharing  of  information,  the  host-country factors that facilitate the mobility of diaspora politics, and the LTTE factor to explain  how  the  dominance  of   LTTE’s  ideology  and  presence  in  the  Tamil diaspora activity.
