Abstract :
Recent developments have led international relations theory to face sharp criticism centred on the relevance of theoretical studies to actual international affairs. The author intends to defend the philosophical and practical saliency of international relations theory as an intellectual product. Abstract metatheory is feasible empirically, however. The argument will be confirmed through two sections of discussion; one is the falsification of the logic behind the doubt of the axiological status of international relations theory, and two is demonstration of epistemological context favouring applicability of international relations theory for social and policy reference.
