Abstract :

The  definition  of  food  security  has  some  distinctions  when  it  is  fit  within the  context  of  the  time,  place,  and  decision-making  process.  There  have  been a  few  of  conceptual  and  theoretical  development  on  definition  of  it.  In  order  to understand the phenomenon, the author is going to use three perspectives, which are Malthusian perspective, Dependencies and Gender (women in development). Malthusian perspective sees that to solve the food crisis is by pushing the growth rate. Dependencies theory assumes that in solving the food crisis, the periphery state needs to cut the dependencies to the core states. Gender perspective sees that lack of women involvement in development is the factor creating food crisis.
