Patient safety development program based on individual awareness and commitment

Abstract :

Patient safety in hospital is a service system in a hospital that provides patient care that is safe and expected to prevent injuries caused by errors due to take action or no action should be done. Ibnu Sina Hospital of Gresik Regency is a type B non-teaching hospital and Gresik government-owned which the mission is to provide quality health services and the plenary, while the motto is Customer Satisfaction is Our Main Priority. Based on data, incidents happened in Ibnu Sina Hospital of Gresik Regency in January-September 2009 were 215 and 94.42% incidents can actually be prevented. This study aims to develop patient safety programs based on analysis of factors influence the knowledge, perception of task and patient safety programs, awareness, and commitment to performance at Ibnu Sina Hospital. This is an observational and analytical study. Based on awareness and commitment to the performance of patient safety programs, it is expected to provide high raising to solve and prevent incidents. The results showed that the individual awareness and commitment affect the individual performance in patient safety program.
