Abstract :

Back pain is one of the diseases that accompany the process of human evolution. Back pain can be caused by the incorrect sitting position, which is supported by the table and chair that are not ergonomics. This re-search use the children as the subject, for the purpose to describe that the ergonomics table and chair can provide comfortable, which is expressed by the sitting position at school. The problem in this research is the effect of ergonomics table and chair to the children’s sitting position when studying at school. The method that used in this research is doing Anthropometric measurement to 53 subject. Another measurements were also done to the table and chair, and then both of the datas will be compared for further analysis. All of the data were processed using Microsoft Excel and analyzed using descriptive statistic. Additional data are pre-sented by a video recording when the subjects doing their activity at school. The result of this research is the tables are considered quite appropriate or ergonomics for the subjects, while the chairs are considered not appropriate or not ergonomics for the subjects. The impact of those discomfort because of not appropriate table and chair is incorrect sitting position, like bend down. The conclusion of this research is proven that the ergonomic tables and chairs are affect the comfort of the users, and it is expressed through by sitting posi-tion.
