Abstract :

Integrated health care center is one of society-resourced health attempts, managed by heath volunteer to empower society and giving them access to the basic health care. One of health volunteer task is early detection of children development. The purpose of this study was to analyze factors which influenced health voluteer’s behavior in early detection of children development at Puskesmas Babat, Lamongan. This study was used descriptive analytic design. The population was all maternal and children heath volunteer at Puskemas Babat, 12 respondents included. The independent variables were age, education, experience, knowledge, attitude, available facility, and support from health workers. The dependent variable was early detection of children development. Data were then colleted using structured questionnaire and observation form. Data were then analyzed using Spearman Rho test with α<0,05. Results showed that education (p= 0,035), experience (p= 0,027), knowledge (p= 0,007), attitude (p= 0,033), available facility (p= 0,014), and support from health workers (p= 0,002) did have influence with health volunteer’s behavior in early detection of children development. While, age had no influence. It can be concluded that education, experience, knowledge, attitude, available facility, and support from health workers had influence health volunteer’s behavior in early detection of children development. The dominant factor was health volunteer knowledge (r= 0,732) and support from health worker (r=0,802). Nurse should gives health education frequently to the health volunteers in order to improve their knowledge and ability in early detecting child development.
