Trends in indonesia-malaysia bilateral relations in post -suhartoperiod

Abstract :

The relations between Indonesia and Malaysia is best termed by ‘love an d hate’ relationship.Despite having a sort of ‘familial’ bond, during more than three decades, both countries havebeen involved in series deeds affect the harmonious relationship they had forged in the past.However, there is a tendency that elites from both countries managed to improve relationship,which shows significant progress. Geography is something cannot be altered, thus to quit thehassle Indonesia and Malaysia have no other choice than managed the relationship as best as theymight do by minimizing the emotional dimension to a more realistic one. Indonesia -Malaysiabilateral relations should now be reaching a new phase, one which produces more substance andreduces the “romantic” sense of the past.
