Abstract :
Shellfish is one of the Mollusca phyla of the high economical value obtained from the catches of fishermen in marine environments. Environmental resource for the shells is a place where they live, covering surrounding biota and natural factors. One of the diseases that often affects shells is parasitic disease. To anticipate losses due to parasitic attacks on the shells, it is necessary to know prevalence and the type of ectoparasites affecting the blood shells (Anadara granosa). This should be done from the beginning so that the scallops were already carrying the disease agent can have negative consequences and widespread arrests. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of ectoparasites in the blood shells (Anadara granosa). The sampling process was done randomly in the Fish Auction Place (TPI) Sidoarjo. This study was a descriptive survey method. Samples of 150 blood shells (Anadara granosa) were obtained randomly from 3 locations of Fish Auction Place (TPI), including TPI Juanda, TPI Banjar Kemuning, TPI Bluru, each consisting 50 blood shells. Types of ectoparasites found were Balanus improvisus and Octolasmis neptuni. Prevalence rates of ectoparasites that infested blood shells (Anadara granosa) in Fish Auction Place (TPI) Sidoarjo is Balanus improvisus 54 %, and Octolasmis neptuni 6%
