Detection of avian influenza antibody h5 subtype on bearded pig (sus barbatus) in central kalimantan

Abstract :

The aim of the research was to detect antibody against Avian Influenza H5 subtype viruses on Bearded Pig (Sus barbatus) in several region in Central Kalimantan such as Samuda, Sampit, Sangai, Rangda, Luwuk, Cempaga and Palangkaraya. The speciments for Haemagglutinin Inhibition (HI) test were collected from sera of the pig that have been inactivated by heating 56º C. The HI test is positive when the chicken erytrosite precipitate on the base of microplates wells. The result showed that from 97 samples, there were 2 samples from Samuda and Luwuk region had specific antibody against Avian Influenza H5. Percentage of the antibody sera was 2,06%.
