Abstract :
An outbreak of Avian Influenza (AI) H5N1 had been reported in East Java since 2012 until it’s beginning 2013 that mostly didn’t show clinical signs. Generally, clinical signs of AI H5N1 in chicken include whitish cloudy eyes, torticollis, greenish feses and weakness. Pathological changes of AI in deaths duck are often confused with Newcastle disease, which is a challenge to fullfill the need for diagnostic accuracy. The aim of the present study is to ensure the causal five agent disease and the spreading of Avian Influenza virus (H5). Pooled swabs of tracheal and cloacal samples were inoculated into the allantoic cavity of 9-11 day old embryonated chicken egg followed by Haemaglutination Inhibition (HI) and PCR test. The result of this research revealed that 11 of 83 isolates were positive HA, 11 out of 11 isolates were HI positive and 9 of 11 isolates were PCR positive of Avian Influenza virus (H5). It can be concluded that Avian Influenza virus (H5) were spreading in Blitar, Malang, Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Trenggalek, Jombang, Tuban and Mojokerto.
