Abstract :

The study aims to find out the knowledge of the Surabaya City Gubeng Sub-district Community in recognizing,preventing and handling head lice infections. The research method used is accidental survey method. Based ondata obtained from 121 respondents with segmentations aged over 15 years, as many as 83% of respondentsrecognize head lice symptoms, 92% of respondents know head lice transmission, 89% of respondents know howto handle head lice, 82% of respondents know the impact of head lice, and 94% of respondents know how toprevent head lice. Based on the results of the survey, it can be concluded that the Gubeng Sub-districtCommunity of Surabaya City has recognized well the symptoms, transmission, handling efforts, impact andefforts to prevent head lice.
