Abstract :
In line with the goal of further integration, ASEAN, concentrates on framing an ASEAN Community. This study aimed to see how effective the role andperformance of the Directorate of Public Diplomacy at the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in an effort to promote ASEANCommunity 2015. This study is generally done where the population is located, namely Jakarta. Thus, distributing questionnaires or interviews to thecommunity of Jakarta. Through this research, it can be concluded that the role and performance of the Directorate of Public Diplomacy, still not optimal. Thisresearch also concluded that the public support of the government's policymaking process, is still very weak. Therefore, the optimization of the role and performance of the Directorate of Public Diplomacy, needs to be improved.
