Abstract :
Amazon is the largest tropical forest in the world where most of its area is in Brazil. However, Amazon has deforestated lately due to the rise of soy demand. In order to overcome Amazon deforestation, Greenpeace is working with many actors including private companies. Soy Moratorium is the most effective mechanism for mitigation. Research aims to analyze Greenpeace influence in soy moratorium in Brazil in order to minimize Amazon’s deforestation. By using ecocentrism view, research finds that structural change and mechanism are needed so as to fix the environment. Research does two stages hypothesis testing. First is by using NGO diplomacy to analyze Greenpeace’s role. Second is by using the level of NGO influence to find how far Greenpeace influences soy moratorium.
