Abstract :
Article addresses the question of motives and goals behind the internet censorship programme in China. It is started from analyzing how the international system today has changed since the emergence of cyberspace and the new landscape of war, which is famously known as cyberwarfare. The Chinese government responded the new war in the cyberspace by conducting the censorship program to their information instalation. The theory uses in this research is securitization theory from Barry Buzan to analyze how China has employed the internet censorship as their strategy of securitization. Article argues that the Chinese censorship programme has multidimensional goals which stemmed from spheres of ideology, politics, defense, economics, and socio-cultural.
