Abstract :
The aim of this research is to know comparing women as news sources than man as news sources in the news’s election Surabaya, how to chosing news sources base on sex and gender perspective in the news sources’s opinion. Also to know framing in the election’s Surabaya.The type of this research is descriptive. The data for this research is gathered by performing the in-depth interview – with to gate keeper’s Jawa Pos, Surya, Surabaya Post, and Radar Surabaya, gender activist and media expert - and content analysis method. The data from in-depth interview and content analysis will be analyzed discourse analysis and framing analysis tex, and will be presented chronologically and in narrative way in order to describe the discourse.The result of this research is that the dominant news’s content Surabaya’s election about representation of women is still focusing domesticification area. Women excistensi and activities women in the public area so able to chalengece with other candidate in the Surabaya’s election are not exposed and published. Sex role as women, especially wives candidate, in the family always is represented and make gender bias.Gender sensitive’s gete keepers media is implemented media policy, is optimum not yet. Discrimination, subordination or marginalization of women at community, isn’t concerned by media. Almost staf of mass media bias gender belief and gender value. Because, environment and internal scope in the industry media still practiced and make by agent gender bias behaviour’s. Patriachy ideology is haved strongly gate keepers media.
