Abstract :

The purposes of the research are to understand what legal protections should be given to children in the midst of armed conflicts and whether the national regulations of the Indonesian government that regulate this matter are sufficient.The problem was approached from the perspective of normative jurisdiction by examining the existing national and international acts on international humanitarian laws, which specifically regulates the involvement of children in armed conflicts. The primary law materials were collected through library research, while the secondary law materials were obtained from books and the literature as well as opinions of experts in the studied matter. The collected data were then analyzed descriptively by relating them to existing principles, concepts and theories.The study found that the international law has stipulated legal protection over children in the midst of armed conflicts. However, the Indonesia’s national laws have not yet regulated the matter.
