Abstract :
This paper makes a try to investigate the relation between the idea of consensus discussion (musyawarah mufakat) as the heart of Indonesian genuine democracy and deliberative democracy idea in modern demo- cratic tradition. It endeavors to contextualize the history of the idea of consensus discussion (musyawarah mufakat) which was thought by founding fathers of republic. Of course this paper uses more historical ap- proach to explore them all. Besides, I also do some indepth interviews with experties (in theoretical and practi- cal) of deliberative democracy in Indonesia
