The role of daun wungu ethanol extracts for mammary gland atrophy inhibition in ovariectomized mice

Abstract :

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was conducted to evaluate the role of daun wungu ethanol extracts for mammary gland atrophy inhibition in ovariectomized mice. This researches used 30 ovariectomized mice. The ovariectomized mice were grouped in5 groups for K1 (the treatment with coconut oil 0,1 ml), K2 (the treatment with ethinyl estradiol, 0,06 ug, P1, P2 and P3 (the treatment with daun wungu extracts, 0,5 mg, 0,75 mg and 1 mg in 0,1 ml coconut oil oil). All treatments were done for 30 days. At the end of the treatments, all mice sacrifice and were made histology preparation. The result of this researches showed that daun wungu extracts (0,5 mg, 0,75 mg and 1 mg) could inhibit mammary gland atrophy that were showed by the increasing of diameter of the nipple, diameter of mammary duct, the thickness of epithelial linings of the end of mammary duct and the thickness of epithelial linings of mammary duct.
