Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a correlation between student’s perception of school climate with school engagement in SMK IPIEMS Surabaya. Student’s perception of school climate is student’s interpretation of the value, culture, and atmosphere that felt by all school’s member. School engagement is participation and connection to school. School engagement has 3 aspects: behavioral engagement, emotional engagement, dan cognitif engagemen (Fredericks,2004). The study was conducted on 10th grade and 12th grade student of SMK IPIEMS Surabaya on 316 sample of students. Data collection used form of student’s perception of school climate scale questionnaire consisting of 39 item and school engagement scale consisting 24 item derived from professional judgement. Relibility score of student’s perception of school climate scale is 0,882. Reliability score of school engagement scale is 0,782. The result of research based on data analysis performed Spearman’s Rho correlation with SPSS 17.0 for windows obtained by the correlation between level of student’s perception of school climate with school engagement is at 0,335 with p 0,000. From the result it is concluded that there is a correlation between level of student’s perception of school climate with school engagement. Direction of correlation between the two variables is positive with the medium power of correlation.
