Abstract :

The purposed of this study was to find out the differences of self control in adolescence boys and girls who addicted to internet . This research was conducted on adolescents who addicted to the internet (15-19 years old). First, the screening process on 320 adolescent internet users (15-19 years old). The results known that 124 adolescent have become addicted to the internet and 38 of them spent more than 20 hours online per week, thus becoming the subject in this study. The respondent were consisted of 16 boys and 22 women. Data collection tool in this research was psychological scale. The scale which measure internet addiction variable consisted of 20 items developed by Young (1998 ) and self control are developed by Tangney , et al, (2004 ) consists of 36 items. Data analysis was performed with independent sample t-test technique using SPSS 17.0 for windows. The results of the analysis of research data obtained by the differences of self control in adolescence boys and girls who addicted to internet is 0.143. This study conclude that there is no significant differences self control on Adolescence boys and adolescence girls who addicted to internet
