Relationship between student perception of teacher social support with mathematics self-efficacy on student of sma negeri 14 surabaya

Abstract :
The aimed of this study is to determine whether there is a relationship between teacher social support with mathematics self-efficacy in high school's student. The social support in this study is referred to theory by Sarafino (1994), while self-efficacy is referred to Bandura (1997). This study was conducted on 175 adolescents who become student in class XI high school. Data collection devices on this study are questionnaire, the form of scale teacher social support and mathematics self-efficacy are developed by author that consist of 49 valid aitems. The reliability of the teacher social support scale is 0,893 and the reliability of mathematics self-efficacy is 0,911. Data analysis was performed with Spearman's Rank (Rho) correlation technique using SPSS 16.0 for windows and show that the correlation (r) is 0,265. The correlation value relatively low with significance (p) 0,001. It means that Ha was accepted. It showed that there is a relationship between teacher social support with mathematics self-efficacy on student of SMA Negeri 14 Surabaya.
