Abstract :

Abstract: Lately,the prevalency of violence in dating was increase and the impact was significance to the adolescence development, especially in mental health. Therefore, it was important to find out the effects of violence in dating especially on the impact of depressive symptoms and for prevention of the worse psychological disorders. This research focusing to see relationship between violence in dating and depressive sypmtoms experienced by adolescents. The population in this research consist of high school adolescent who hador in relationship and age range 15 to 19 years old. However, sample to be used in this undergraduate thesis are 69 adolescents which are 28 boys and 41 girls. Data collection instruments to be used are questionnaires for the tendency of conducting for violence in dating was measured by Conflict in Adolescent Dating Relationships Inventory (CADRI), while measuring instrument depressive symptoms using the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI II). Statistical analysis were Spearman correlation with significance level α = 0.05. The result of spearman test, significance correlation between dating in violence with depression symtomps is 0,756 (p < 0,05). It meaning that violence in dating were significant to the depressionin X High Schools in Surabaya. Keywords: adolescence, dating violence, depression symptoms
