Abstract :
Marbles artisan in Desa Plumpogambang Kecamatan Gudo Kabupaten Jombang is an informal worker who make marbles for acsesory for clotes, informal worker is a part of comunity who take a less of care from goverment This study is an observational, analytic study with cross sectional approach. The population of this study was worker employed in melting and forming unit. The number of sample was 11 workers taken with purposive sampling technique with given criteria (i.e. healthy, employed in one group). Data were obtained by means interview, observation and measurement. Measurement in this study included measurement of air temperature, globe temperature, relativity humidity, air velocity as well as pulse rate and blood pressure before and after exposure to heat. Data collected were analyzed descriptively, and analytically by Paired T Test was used to analyzed the differences in pulse rates and blood pressures before and after exposure to heat of Marbles artisan in Desa Plumpogambang Kecamatan Gudo Kabupaten Jombang. The result of this study indicated WBGT Index in all work place had exceeded the recommended standard, that were also found that pulse rate (p=0,002 ) and systolic blood pressure (p=0,898) before and after exposure to heat were no difference and, while there was no difference in diastolic blood pressure before and after exposure to heat (p=0, 320) Based on result of this study it is recommended that additional rest period should be provided, acclimatization to heat should be provided to all new workers and reacclimatization should also be provided for those who are absence from work more than one week. It also suggested artisan to increase intake water.
