Abstract :
Abstract: Abattoir workers often contact with raw meat which can be infected by Toxoplasma gondii. Toxoplasmosis can be detected from IgM and IgG Anti-Toxoplasma in blood serum. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship of incidence positive IgM and IgG Anti-Toxoplasma with personal hygiene and personal protective equipment usage in Kedurus Abattoir workers. This study was an analytical observational study. The observed object were thirty abbatoir workers. The data were analyzed by using a statistical association Fisher’s Exact Test to find out the relationship if incidence of positive IgM and prevalence of IgG Anti-Toxoplasma with personal hygiene and wearing of personal protective equipment in Kedurus Abattoir workers. The results of serologic test suggest that the incidence of positive IgM Anti-Toxoplasma is 0% and the prevalence of positive IgG Anti-Toxoplasma is 80%. There was relationship between prevalence positive IgG Anti-Toxoplasma and personal hygiene and personal protective equipment in Kedurus Abattoir workers (Fisher’s Exact Test, all p < 0.05). It is concluded that prevalence IgG Anti-Toxoplasma is associated with personal hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment. Kedurus Abattoir is recommended to increasing the hand washing facility whereas for workers is increase their personal hygiene.
