Abstract :

The growing era amid the echoes of freedom in all things is not directly response by Arab ethnic groups arround ​​Sepanjang Sidoarjo, especially in women. Heterogeneous societies are not fully response by women of Arab descent, especially in terms to choose of couples which there is an endogamous rule. For that reason, this research focuses on the construscence of Arabian descent women throughout the marriage of endogamy and  action in endogamous marriage. This study uses qualitative with a social definition paradigm and uses the social construction theory of Peter L Berger and Thomas Luckmann also Max Weber's social action theory. Determination method of informants in snowball through intermediary key informant. The result of this study is that women of Arab descent from the Ba'alwi group construct marriage in a more endogamous manner than the Arabian descendants of the Masyaikh group who tend to be more lax. The act of marrying endogamy in Arabian descendants of the Ba'alwi faction tends toward a value-oriented social and traditional action. While the orientation of the actions of women The Arab descendants of the Masyaikh groups who make endogamy marriages through matchmaking tend to lead to instrumental rational acts because in the marriage relationship first consider the benefits on both sides, with the capital held is the handsome face and financial of the men. The woman of the Arab descendants of the Masyaikh group who married through marriage with a cousin of the father's orientation of his actions tended to lead to affective action due to emotional closeness with his own family.
