Abstract :

Currently there is no doubt that the school library received less attention and treatedimproperly . Libraries as if made for a formality and placed in areas that are less worthy as a toiletor near the warehouse . Head of the library is often taken from a person who does not have a librarybackground as a teacher . It is also less attractive to students . This further adds to the problemsexisting row . Al-Hikmah Elementary School library is able to perform extraordinary amid themany problems that occur in the school library. Al-Hikmah Elementary School library a prominentplace among academics SD Al-Hikmah Surabaya. Many unique phenomenon encountered in theschool library which is unheard of in the school library to another. Proximity of students to thelibrary, excellence program, as well as achievements.This qualitative study tries to uncover the meaning behind the behavior of the studentsabout the image in the elementary school library at Al-Hikmah Surabaya through expectations tostudent interactions involving knowledge and experience. This study uses the social constructionperspective, which means trying to uncover a phenomenon that occurs in libraries SD Al-HikmahSurabaya.This study results four typology , the first is Loyal User. This typology loved reading andlibrary activities very much, has a personal awareness , likes to explore, and will continue to visitthe library does not care if the condition is not good. The second is the Conditional User, users whowant to libraries with certain conditions in accordance expectations, then is Necessity Users whovisit the library base of needs such as collections, play , or restore mood. The last is a PhlegmaticUsers who during a visit to the library have a tendency to fall obligation or just formality, likesafety zone and less motivation
