Abstract :
Diseases caused by viruses and bacteria in shrimp farming activities is very harmful. Bacteria of the genus Vibrio factors cause vibriosis disease that can cause mass mortality on a scale both hatchery and pond. Vibrio infections can caused secondary infection of WSSV disease. The use of antibiotics to reduce the problem of bacterial diseases can cause residue and can cause resistance of pathogenic bacteria target. Genus from Lactobacillus have some advantages for potentially a probiotic agent, among others able to survive at low pH, resistance to bile salts, antimicrobial and has the power to produce antagonistic against pathogens. Lactobacillus casei able to produce bacteriocins which include asidolin, asidofilin, and laktosidin which has a broad spectrum to fight pathogens. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of Lactobacillus casei fatherly inhibit the growth of Vibrio harveyi and fatherly determine minimal inhibitory concentrations of Lactobacillus casei capable of inhibiting Vibrio harveyi. This research did on July – September 2016 in dry laboratory Fisheries and Marine Faculty, Airlanga University. This study uses a completely randomized design with 6 treatments 4 replications. Analysis of the data used is by using descriptive method. The results showed that some concentrations of Lactobacillus casei capable menghamabat Vibrio harveyi with strong inhibition of categories (the width of inhibition zone diameter 10 mm - 20 mm.
