Abstract :

Fish feed is the main requirement needed by the fish for growth. The availability of natural food has an important role in the cultivation of fish, especially on seed stadia. Frog tadpoles is one alternative natural food that can be used for catfish enlargement because it is a natural food commonly eaten by several species of fish in nature. Field Practice The aim of this is to know and learn about the benefits of using a toad tadpoles as an alternative to natural feed for the growth of catfish, frog spawning know the process to produce tadpoles of frogs, find out the constraints faced in the process of spawning frogs. Practice of Field Work is being carried out in Indonesia where the practice of the Village Agro Biotech Sengon Jombang East Java Province and dilasanakan on 19 July to 28 September 2010. Working methods used in this PKL is descriptive method. Data is collected by means of observation, active participation and interviews and literature studies. Performed included frog hatchery pond preparation, preparation of the parent and spawning frogs. Preparation pool done by cleaning and drying ponds. Parent preparation done by the parent selection. Spawning carried in bulk on a concrete pool with a size of 4 x 3x 1.5 m³. Factors that affect seeding frogs are environmental conditions, the selection of the parent and the parent feeding. Mains that are used to mature the gonads to spawning can take place smoothly. Feed the parent is given the form of insects crickets and ants. In this activity, street vendors, the use of tadpoles carried out by entering into a catfish pond maintenance tadpoles. Frog tadpoles used the results of seeding tail number 4940, or about 494 grams. Catfish that use one-month-old with an average weight of 1.3 grams of 1700 tails. The main feed is given artificial feed pellets CP 781-2 PRIMA type as much as 30% of the total weight of catfish. The use of tadpoles on the location of street vendors only as a supplementary food catfish. Observations catfish growth after maintenance is only done once a week. Growth parameters measured included the length and weight. Observations indicate the length of the average catfish 1.96 cm / tail and the average weight 3.35 grams/fish
