Abstract :

Gagal jantung kronik adalah sindrom klinik yang terjadi sebagai perjalanan akhir beberapa penyakit kardiovaskuler. Disamping klasifikasi dari New York Heart Assocition , telah dikembangkan klasifikasi lain dari American Heart Association yang mengklasifikasikan derajat kegagalan jantung secara objektif. Patofisiologi  yang mendasari CHF mulai dari mekanisme hemodinamik sampai dengan mekanisme neurohormonal yang mengakibatkan mekanisme kompensasi jantung dengan beberapa perubahan termasuk struktur global dan fungsi kontraksi. Tujuan penanganan yaitu tercapainya keadaan klinik yang stabil, memperpanjang hidup dan meringankan gejala.
