Abstract :
Common palm civet (Paradoxurus hemaphroditus) is wild animal that is used to produce the most expensive coffee in the world called Luak Coffee, as experimental animal in the laboratorium, and many purposes. Therefore, they need to maintain their healthiness. Physiological status of healthiness can be performed from blood imaging. This study was purposed to know blood imaging from eight Java common palm civets, 4 males and 4 females during 7 weeks. The experiment demonstrated fluctuative blood imaging of eight common palm civets at time they were captured and after being adapted for 1month at cage. The erythrocyte count of male and female common palm civets was (9.28±1.83)x106/ml and (8.47±1.8)x106/ml, respectively. Mean while hahemoglobin concentration and hematocrit value of male and female common palm civets was (10.69±2.10)g/dl and (9.64±2.15)g/dl, (36.45±4.74) % and (30.05±7.95) % respectively. Generally blood imaging of male common palm civet have higher average than female. Java common palm civet blood imaged was under average of blood imaged of Thailand common palm civet. Their visual anatomy convincing that the Java common palm civet might be stilll under one year old.
