Abstract :

Abnormalities in peripheral airway appear to be important in the genesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Patients with these pathologic lesions may have normal values for airway resistance and forced expiratory volume in one second .The new test , FEF.25 are believed to be sensitive to abnormalities in the peripheral airways.We measure workers in cement factory where the dust is estimated to be in high concentration . Although this evidence suggests that these tests can be used to detect abnormalities in pheripheral airways, there is very little pathologic confirmation of this belief.
