Abstract :
Heavy physical exercise presumed to cause some changes in endothelial cells through physical and chemical trauma. This research was aimed to assess the influence of one physical exercise session to Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and von Willebrand Factor (vWF) as one of parameters for endothelial cells damage level. This research is a true experimental study with one way full randomized design. Forty white rats (Rattus novergicus strain wistar) are divided into 4 groups, each contain 10 rats. The first group is given one light physical exercise session (group P1), the second groups given one session of moderate physical exercise (group P2), the third group is given one session of heavy physical exercise (group P3), and the last group is control. After intervention, the IL-6 and vWF blood concentration of the rats was measured by ELISA technique using R&D system’s kit. The difference of average blood concentration between groups were analyzed by ANOVA test continued by Benferroni. The result showed that significant difference of average IL-6 and vWV concentration between groups. The average of IL-6 (K:48.570±28.337 ᵖg/ml; P1: 71.362±48.812 ᵖg/ml; P2: 96.076±50.080 ᵖg/ml; P3: 142.298±78.289 ᵖg/ml) with p value = 0.003 (p< 0.05) meanwhile for vWF (K:160.111±87.664 ᵖg/ml; P1: 198.042±76.738 ᵖg/ml; P2: 281.707±143.890 ᵖg/ml; P3: 282.916±78.467 ᵖg/ml) with p value = 0.042 (p<0.05). After continuing with Post Hoc analyze, there is significant difference between control group and the third group for IL-6 (p= 0.008), meanwhile there is no significant difference for vWF ( p>0.05). In conclusion, there was significant improvement of IL-6 but not with vWF blood level after giving one session of heavy physical exercise.
