the expression of tumor necrosis factor reseptor (tnfr)-1 in the trophoblast of mice infected with toxoplasma gondii

Abstract :

Toxoplasma gondii infection causes the increase of TNF-α on decidua placenta. TNF-α have two receptors to act to the terget cell. One the other is TNFR-1. This study measured TNFR-1 expression on the tropboblast of infected-pregnant mice. Forty-eight pregnant Swiss mice were divided into 2 main groups. Group I (control) was uninfected mice and group II (treatment) was infected mice. Each group was divided into 3 subgroups: the first, second and third week gestation Mice were infected with 1x103 tachizoites T. gondii doses by intraperitoneal. Four days post infection, mice were sacrificed, placenta was removed for observation TNFR-1 expression by immunohitochemistry staining.The data were analysed by ANOVA and LSD post hoc test.The result showed that TNFR-1 expression were significantly difference (p < 0.00) between infected mice and uninfected mice trophoblast. TNFR-1 expression were increasing on trophoblast of infected mice .TNFR-1  expression in first week gestation infected mice increased  3.4 times (from 10.40% to become 35.01%); in second week increased  2.5 times (from 13.94% to become 35.28%) and in the third week increased  2.4 times (from 13.97% to become 33.52%). We concluded that Toxoplasma gondii infection effected to the increase of TNFR-1 expression on pregnant mice trophoblast.
