The antelminthic effect of garlic (allium sativum linn) against ascaridia galli infection in chicken (gallus gallus)

Abstract :

The study of antelminthic effect of garlic (Allium sativum Linn) extract against Ascaridia galli infection in chicken (Gallus gallus)has been deducted, using 25 chicken as samples, 1,5 mounth of age with the same weight averages. Chicken have been infected by infective eggs of Ascaridia galli which had embrionated by Fairbairn method. The infected chicken divided on 5 groups of 5 chicken, group I as control treated with aquadest, group II treated with 250 mg of piperazin, group III treated with 250 mg of garlic extract, group IV treated with 500 mg of garlic extract, group V treated with 750 mg of garlic extract. All tratments were done orally, once per day in 3 days. In the fourth day, feces had collected from all samples, worm eggs observed and counted using Mc Master method.
