Abstract :

Malaria is the most important parasitic infection in the world, especially in tropical countries. Data from geberal hospital in Manado, North Sulawesi showed that malaria falcifarum ranked first of all severe malaria cases. There were 370 falcifarum malaria patient on February 2007 – October 2008. Falcifarum malaria can cause severe malaria. Falcifarum malaria remains problematic in subtropical and tropical countries like Indonesia. It is caused by Plasmodium falcifarum  and  spread  by  Anopheles mosquito as the vector. Clinical manifestation varies from without and minor symptom to severe even  may  causes  the death.  Many factors of the patient affect the severity of the disease mat can be evaluated on the parasitemia rate. One  of the factors on the patient affecting the malaria disease is nutritional status covering physical/anthropometries measurement, biochemical test and molecular test especially malaria cerebral symptom. Previous approaches in malaria treatment are falling to the morbidity and mortality of malaria.
