Abstract :
The aim of the present study was the determation in pregnant crossbred mare by detection of progesteron and insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) in serum by the technique of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) sandwich. Fluctuation of progesterone levels in serum is highly correlated with changes in reproductive status of the mare, in order to ensure the establishment of pregnancy. Whereas in insulin-like growth factor-I is basically characterized as peptides secreted by liver and circulated in blood is bioactive material studied from pregnant crossbred mare serum. The results of progesterone levels from crossbred mare pregnancy that range between 1.8 ng/ml to 17.3 ng/ml, and IGF-I levels that range between 98 ng/ml to 654 ng/ml. Pregnancy test based on progesterone levels in crossbred mare serum are generally used only when palpation and ultrasound per rectum is not possible.
