Abstract :

Introduction: Tetanus   Toxoid   immunization   (TT)   is   an   Antenatal   Care   (ANC)   service’s component   to   reduce   maternal   and   infant   mortality.   Therefore   it   is   necessary   the counseling        to    increase      knowledge        about      TT      immunization         to     improve       mother's compliance. The purpose of this study to analyzed the connection of age, education, work status, knowledge, and attitude towards TT immunization compliance.Method: This  study  is  a  correlational  study  with  a  cross  sectional  approach  to  studies conducted   on   all   pregnant   women   who   did   the   Antenatal   Care   at   Pacar   Keling Community Health Center Surabaya began on May 28 to June 13, 2012. Population is all pregnant women who did the Antenatal Care. Sampling methode by purposive sampling. Number of samples are 78 people.   Result:The results showed the factors that influence maternal TT immunization status is the  status  of  work,  education,  knowledge  and  attitudes  for  age  have  no  effect  on  TT immunization  status  of  pregnant  women.  The  most  dominant  factor  that  influence  TT immunization  status  of  pregnant  women  is  the  knowledge  and  attitude  of  the  mother. Analysis  of  the relationship  towards  compliance with  the Spearman  Rho  correlation  test showed a  significant  relationship  to work status p=0.041,  education p=0.023,  knowledge p=0.000 and attitudes p=0.000.Discussion: From  the  results  of  this  study  is  expected  to  start  more  awareness  of  maternal tetanus toxoid immunization. Besides, the mother  is also expected to not repeat the same action  on  the  next  child  pregnancy  by  seeking  information  on  the  implementation  of immunization toward tetanus toxoid and for health workers to keep providing information to pregnant women by counseling.
