Abstract :
Introduction: Mental disorders cause suffering to the individual and social barriers in implementing the role. Disorder characterized by changes in mental function. Usually the causes is a biological factor, psychological and sociocultural. Method: Design used in this research was cross sectional. Paringan village has a population of 60 mental disorders. Using quota sampling, the number of samples taken as many as 30 people. The independent variables are genetic, personality, self-concept, education, employment and income. Dependent variable is a mental disorder. Data were analyzed with Chi-Square test with a significance of α <0.05. Result and Analysis: The results showed that, the influence of a mental disorder is genetic (p=0,030), personality (p=0,033), and self-concept (p=0,033). Meanwhile, that does not affect the occurrence of mental disorders is education (p=0,871), work (p=0,777), income (p=0,848) and family support (p=593). Dominant factors that influence the biological factor (p=0,030). Discussion and Recommendation: Conclusion of this study was the genetic factors, personality and self-concept has a major influence to determine the occurrence of mental disorders. Type of job, family support, education level and nominal income is not a cause of mental disorder. Therefore necessary research on sociocultural again, especially about individual coping in living patients. About coping in their employment, earn income and education.
