Correlation between family health task and relapse of schizophrenia

Abstract :

Introduction: Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder which requires a continuous and sustainable care. Those characteristic cause the patient potentially experience relapse. That relapse experienced by patient is affected by family’s role very much, one of them is how they conduct the family health task. Methods: The purpose of this study is to explain correlation between family health task and schizophrenia relapse at Paringan, Jenangan, Ponorogo. The design that is used in this study is cross sectional design. The population is family whom living with schizophrenic. The sample including 30 respondents. Sample is taken by using purposive sampling. The collected data is analyzed with spearman rho test with significant level p<0,05. Result and Analysis: The analysis result showed there was correlation between family health task and schizophrenia relapse (p=0,000).Discussion: The conclusion can be derived from this study that there is correlation between family health task and schizophrenia relapse. If family health task increase so schizophrenia relapse decrease. Several things may can be done are by providing counseling and doing health promotion to prevent relapse and how to care the schizophrenia well.
